Peak-shaving battery storage for a logistics site in Neumünster
At a logistics site in Neumünster, we delivered a battery storage system with 225 kWh of storage capacity and 110 kW of power. The system reliably reduces load peaks, stabilises the energy supply and supports more cost-efficient energy use.
Challenge
Logistics and haulage businesses often have highly fluctuating load profiles. Load peaks significantly increase demand charges and weigh on a site's cost-effectiveness. On top of this came a tight time frame: installation, integration and commissioning had to be completed within a very short period.
Solution
For the site in Neumünster, we handled the planning and complete implementation of the battery storage system – from the civil engineering works and the installation of the storage unit and outdoor distribution board through to cabling and connection. Setting up the energy management system (EMS), including commissioning, was also our responsibility. The system enables peak shaving and reliably reduces load peaks.
