168 kWp rooftop PV system on a green roof in Brilon
Since 2026, a PV system by Centroplan has been in operation on the roof of a retail store in Brilon. It combines an installed module capacity of 168.35 kilowatts peak (kWp) with a green roof.
Challenge
Green roofs retain rainwater, improve the microclimate and protect the roof membrane. These benefits were to be fully preserved alongside the PV system. What was needed, therefore, was a solution that combines greening and power generation on the same surface.
Solution
The choice fell on the Ceniq 2 mounting system, which is embedded directly into the green roof. The plants grow between and beneath the rows of modules. With 168.35 kWp module capacity and 125 kW inverter capacity, the system now also supplies the store with self-generated solar power.
