5.3 MWp rooftop PV system in Rastatt
In 2025, Centroplan completed a rooftop PV system with an installed module capacity of 5,258.95 kilowatts peak (kWp) for a production site in Rastatt. The inverters have a total capacity of 4,250 kW.
Challenge
A system of this size places high demands on planning and grid connection. Registration with the grid operator was carried out in accordance with VDE-AR-N 4120, the German technical connection rule for the high-voltage level. It requires an extensive verification process, including a plant certificate and a declaration of conformity. At the same time, the mounting system had to be suited to the conditions of the large industrial roofs.
Solution
We installed the modules on the ValkPro+ mounting system from Van der Valk in an east-west orientation with a 10-degree tilt. The east-west layout makes efficient use of the roof area and spreads electricity generation more evenly over the day, with higher yields in the morning and afternoon. We supported the registration with the grid operator in accordance with VDE-AR-N 4120 from the application through to proof of conformity.
